Solar Hot Water Systems

Solar Hot Water Gold Coast

Solahart, Rheem, Edwards, Beasley, Rinnai, Dux, Siddons, Endless Solar, Conergy, Apricus, Chromagen, Eco-Smart, Hills, Esteem, Solar Lord, Suntrap, SolarArk, and numerous others are all approved solar hot water heaters installed in Australia today.  Whywait Plumbing Services has specialist technicians licensed by the Plumbing Industry Council, (PIC) to install and maintain all solar hot water systems.

To upskill the plumbing industry for increasingly complex Solar & Heat Pump hot water system installations, a new licence endorsement has been introduced to reduce the costs and approval timeframes for installations by the Queensland Government’s, Plumbing Industry Council, (PIC).

Since, 1 January 2011, only plumbers who have completed the course in “Evaluating and Planning the Installation of Solar and Heat Pump Water Systems” and have the endorsement on their PIC Licence are legally entitled to install, replace, test, repair and maintain Solar & Heat Pump hot water systems. The installation of Solar & Heat Pump hot water system is regulated work under the Standard Plumbing and Drainage Regulation 2003.

When it comes to solar water heaters, Whywait Plumbing Services recommends and installs Solar Ark. SolarArk is an Australian manufacturer and a recognised leader in solar tube (or, evacuated tube) technology.  These tubes represent the most recent breakthrough in thermal technology, and offer you a choice for the better over the more traditional solar water heater flat panels.

Why Solar Tubes vs. Solar Panels?

Solar Ark evacuated tubes over these advantages over solar panel technology:

  • The constant profile of the round tube means that the collector is always perpendicular to the sun’s rays; therefore, solar energy is constantly absorbed over the course of a day.
  • Greater absorption on overcast days, which means a lesser dependency on your back-up hot water heating system such as electricity or gas.
  • SolarArk evacuated tubes also reduce heat loss, which means they can reach higher temperatures than most flat-panel collectors, heating your water faster and more efficiently with a minimal loss of heat.
  • SolarArk evacuated tubes are modular in design and parallel in formation.  As a result, the number of tubes can be increased or decreased at will (depending on your energy needs).
  • SolarArk tubes require less roof space than solar panels for greater home aesthetics.
  • SolarArk tubes are strong and resilient, but should one break, they’re easy and inexpensive to replace.
  • SolarArk currently provides the longest manufacturing warranty in the Australian market of 15 years.  That’s your assurance of high quality and continuous performance for your family’s enhanced indoor comfort.
