Gold Coast Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System Installation
The interest in water and its health implications have increased the awareness of the chemicals added to the water supply by SEQ Water in South-East Queensland. The concerns regarding the addition of fluoride to our water supply in 2008 has increased the demand for filtration systems that remove fluoride.
Very simply if you do not want fluoride in your drinking water there is only one solution and that is to install a Reverse Osmosis water filtration system at your kitchen sink.
Whywait Plumbing Services will supply and install a genuine 7 stage reverse osmosis water filtration system which is guaranteed to remove 95-98% of all contaminant, particles, pyrogens, microorganisms, colloids and dissolved in-organics. An absolute plus with this system is that it requires minimal maintenance.
Whywait Fully Installed Reverse Osmosis Unit

Standard Rate: $1181.83 inclusive of GST
This guaranteed pricing allows to supply and install a complete 7 stage reverse osmosis unit in your home or business. We allow to install the tap into the sink then install the reverse osmosis unit, storage tank, control valves and pressure limiting valve under the sink connecting to the existing exposed cold water connection.
The details of each stage of the Whywait 7 stage reverse osmosis system are:
Stage One – Poly Spun Sediment Cartridge: this filter removes sediment, rust, sand and algae and has a high flow rate which inhibits the growth of bacterial slime.
Stage Two – Carbon Block Filter: this filter’s primary task is to protect and prolong the life of the membrane. The carbon block cartridge removes any larger components that get through stage 1 and will stop chemicals from reaching the membrane. This should then prolong the life of the membrane to 3-5 years.
Stage Three – The Membrane: This is a CSM reverse osmosis membrane which does all the work as the filters before the membrane are primarily there to protect the membrane. This membrane has a 0.02 micron rating producing water at 60-90 litres per day. This is more than enough water for a 5 person home for cooking and drinking.
Stage Four – Mineral Stone: After stages 1,2,3 the filtering has been completed and the next 4 stages are dedicated to bringing the water back to a healthy condition for drinking. The mineral stone filter has two purposes, firstly as the aggressive water will dissolve small trace elements from the mineral stone which is primarily magnesium. Secondly it is a sacrificial anode assisting in neutralizing the pH of the water plus it releases healthy minerals the body requires. Mineral Stone is specifically an environmental protection and health care ball that is composed of the natural non-metal mineral tourmaline, maifan stone, porcelain clay, calcium and magnesium carbonate by nanometer combination technology, special formula and agglomeration techniques. This results in activating, purifying and mineralising the drinking water.
Stage Five – Infrared Treatment: This stage is treating the health of the water. Infrared beads assist in the sanitising of the water with infra red emitting frequency balls through glass tubes. The water never comes into contact with the infrared beads.
Stage Six – GAC (Carbon Filter): When water runs through an Reverse Osmosis membrane process the chemical stripping of the water is so severe that it leave the water tasting bland. The mineral stone filter may also release some fines that could cloud the water so this filter (being carbon) brings back the taste of the water and absorbs any loose fines from the mineral stone.
Stage Seven – Magnetic Water Energiser: Fluid reactor magnetic energy is widely used in water treatment and this is negative defusing technology, meaning that when put in reverse it activates negative energy into drinking water. This technology reduces the symptoms of kidney stone and calcification of the arteries. There are numerous other advantages in drinking negatively charged water.
Reduction Rates on Reverse Osmosis Membrane
The reduction rates for the reverse osmosis membrane filter and the chemicals and minerals removed are: Aluminum 98%, Adrazin Over 98%, Arsenic 98%, Aldrin Over 98%, Benzene Over 98%, Barium 95%, Chlorine Over 98%, Cadmium 95%, Chloroform Over 98%, Calcium 98%, DOT Over 98%, Chloride 95%, Dichlormethane Over 98%, Chromium VI 98%, Endrin Over 98%, Copper 98%, Fluoranthene Over 98%, Fluoride 95%, Herbicides Over 98%, Iron 98%, Lindane Over 98%, Lead 98%, Methoxychlor Over 98%, Magnesium 98%, PCB Over 98%, Manganese 98%, Pesticides Over 98%, Mercury II 85%, Perchlorethylene Over 98%, Nitrate 90%, Phenole Over 98%, Potassium 95%, Tannic Acids Over 98%, Selenium IV 95%, Toxaphene Over 98%, Silver 98%, Trichlorethlene Over 98%, Sodium 95%, Trihalomethanes Over 98%, Strontium 98%, V.O.C.’s Over 98%, Sulphate 98%, Total Dissolved Solids 95%, Zinc 98%.
Cartridge Replacement Schedule
As a general rule, cartridges before the membrane need to be replaced every 6 months. The membrane itself will last approximately 3-5 years. The post carbon GAC (taste and odour cartridge) should be replaced every 12 months. The Mineral Stone and Infrared Cartridges every 2 years. The magnetic Water treatment device will not need replacing. Therefore on a 7 stage system the replacement of working parts would be at the following intervals:
- Poly Spun Sediment Cartridge – 6 months
- Carbon Block Cartridge – 6 months
- Membrane 3 – 5 years
- Mineral Stone Cartridge – 2 years
- Infrared Cartridge – 2 years
- Post GAC (taste/odour) Cartridge – 12 months
- Magnetic Water Treatment System – never
